Job Id: 1122 # of Openings: 1 School Based Specialist Position Summary The School Based Specialist provides a link between Hamilton Center and schools within the service area. The position develops and maintains relationships with the schools in an effort to increase the referral base and placement of Care Managers and Therapists in the school system. The position implements the philosophy, policies, procedures, systems and strategic goals set forth by the management team while maximizing the highest level of customer service. Essential Duties/Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •Assist in recruitment of Care Managers and Therapists. •Have knowledge of Hamilton Center’s programs and services by geographic location and division - constantly keep updated on changes in services •Have a clear understanding of Hamilton Center’s target market(s) •Initiate tours, public speaking and other outreach opportunities to promote services and programs •Consults and cooperates with community systems to facilitate linkage, referral, crisis management, advocacy, and follow up with the focus on attaining treatment goals •Maintains program records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations according to Hamilton Center policy and procedures. •Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual-relationships, and professional stature •Participates in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in area(s) of expertise •Attend meetings as appropriate and meet regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision •Develops short and long term goals related to placement of Care Managers and Therapists in all school systems and ensures the goals and objectives are consistent with Center-wide goals and objectives. •Investigate and be aware of changes in the external environment and behavioral health industry through professional development, education, peer interaction and professional/community involvement. •Timely completion of all required reports of activity to the Executive Director of School Services •Assist in the training of new Care Managers. •Must maintain list of schools in all counties within the service area. •Will take a role in all corporate initiatives. •Meets weekly with Executive Director of School Services. •Adhere to facility and department standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality. •Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications/Requirements •Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health area, marketing, business administration or related field. •Minimum of two years’ experience in health care business development, marketing, or relevant field. Knowledge of behavioral health is preferred •Knowledge and skills in community based health care and case management preferred •Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to problem-solve with genuine interest in helping adults and children with mental illness access behavioral or primary care. •Must possess excellent written and verbal skills •Must be able to maintain professional rapport with all stakeholders •Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity •Skills in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data •Good problem solving and time management skills •Customer focused philosophy of doing business •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •Excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload and coordinate own activities with others •Knowledge of computer software and use of the Internet—Microsoft Word products preferred – Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access •Knowledge of internal/external healthcare environments •Ability to use solid judgment and adhere to confidentiality requirements •Ability to work in a team environment using tact, resourcefulness, patience anddedication •Ability to work in a fast pace business environment and meet deadlines •Ability to react calmly and effectively in urgent/emergency situation
