Vetting teams build and maintain software services, tools, and platforms for deploying, orchestrating, and monitoring tests for AWS servers. Our software ensures that all AWS systems meet AWS' quality bar and are operating as expected in our data centers. We are responsible for vetting AWS cloud at a scale larger and more complex than anywhere else on the planet. Our services are core to how cloud capacity is provisioned, managed and used by AWS. AWS Vetting is innovating new systems and extending its services to new frontiers. Our teams are architecting, building and operating scalable services that are at the core of AWS infrastructure.

What you will do: You will define the engagement model for software development and delivery, and manage cross-team dependencies and relationships. You will be the key leader responsible for delivering the distributed software systems and results that will ensure that AWS customers get healthy servers and services. Why it’s high-impact: Our systems ensure that internal and external AWS customers can get the healthy server capacity they need within an SLA. Scope of all our solutions is global, and Vetting processes are at the nexus of all server delivery in AWS.

What’s the challenge: Our space is fast-moving, and has a large number of ambiguous and difficult challenges. Our projects require deep technical and software expertise and the ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company. You will be responsible for identifying solutions, trying ideas, will be given space to fail and to iterate to produce products that your customers love.

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product’s performance, quality, and end-user experience. Successful candidates will be data-driven, excellent at written and verbal communication, able to create scalable solutions and processes, and adept at building relationships across diverse teams, job families, and all levels of the organization up to senior Amazon leadership.
