Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do: TranSystems is hiring for a Licensed Architect to be involved in the application of fundamental architectural assignment. Works from designs of others receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. Primary Responsibilities (others may be included): Assists others in programming, schematic design, building cost analysis, construction documents, specifications and materials, code research, construction administration and project management. Performs elementary design computations, makes quantity takeoffs and prepares estimates, prepares architectural plans and renderings, and inspects architectural features of structures in the field. Encouraged to try to solve problems using judgment, and education, but is expected to ask for assistance when needed. May be asked to participate in non-design architectural activities such as construction observation, surveying, CADD production, and field data collection. Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routing work. Research design options and document findings for Senior Project Architect. Uses computer to solve design problems and improve the project team's design process. Maintains project database by writing computer programs, entering and backing up data. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations. Keeps Senior Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services. Maintain neat and organized work area that allows efficient access to project information as required by other team members. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Assist or participate in preparation of business proposals. Qualifications What you bring to our firm: A bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field. Have been licensed as an architect for 1-5 years, minimum. Licensure in Maryland preferred. NCARB certification or ability to achieve NCARB certification is preferred.” Proficient in Autocad/Revit -- architecture drawing/detailing Experience preparing a set of working-drawings in all design phases, schematic to construction admin, and be able to coordinate with other architects, engineers, and contractors. Assisting managing projects and producing work output for all phases of a design project. Outputs will include design visualization for client presentations, working drawings, construction details, millwork details and specifications. Experience with commercial and retail design Strong organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines 3D Modeling & rendering skills Knowledge of sourcing materials, products, and product resources for interior applications Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
