Senior Data Architect - Washington, D.C.

We are currently seeking a Senior Data Architect to work at our contractor site in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area supporting a growing PetaByte-scale data storage and cloud opportunity in the civilian space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain data in a secure Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliant cloud infrastructure (currently in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM Storage Scale) compliant with agency security requirements and latest industry standard data encryption both in transit and at restEstablish a Data Preparation and Dissemination Plan for large sets of data to be reviewed and updated based on customer needs, including full Data Life Cycle ManagementArchitect, design, develop, implement, and maintain complex data infrastructures on multiple cloudsAnalyze changes to technical implementation, source data streams, administrator/analytic/BI tools, interfaces, application services, and business policies and provide recommendations for implementing industry standard best practicesSupport data capacity planning for larger data volumesAssist in preparing technical reporting artifacts with appropriate context and scope for senior leaders of varying technical acumenCommunicate with senior leadership on the technical aspects of solutions in verbal and written formats Make oral presentations to audiences of varying technical capabilities to evangelize and/or reinforce large data format solutions proposed Create technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) to highlight the innovative solutions that can be applied to the customer data operations

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldOne or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Data Engineer - AssociateData Science Council of America (DASCA) Senior Data Architect (SDA) CertificationMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer AssociateGoogle Professional Data Engineer CertificationSAS Certified Big Data ProfessionalIBM Certified Data Architect – Big Data Active ITIL certification10+ years of experience actively maintaining and architecting various infrastructuresExperience managing federal data management and large data strategy solutionsExperience with one or more different Agile methodologies including Scrum, Lean, SAfeExperience preparing project cost estimates to include but not limited to, labor, travel, equipment and softwareProficiency with written technical proposals and review of proposals for technical integrity, quantification of risk, and strategic directionExperience architecting, working with scaled, adaptive, performantly efficient and resilient data architecturesExperience provisioning and managing Petabyte-scale cloud data solutions Successful client report and customer liaison experienceMust possess a strong, proactive work ethic and superior collaboration skills

Preferred

Agile certification (i.e., PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Manager; SAFe Agilist)Master’s Degree in related field of study or equivalent years of experienceLarge data management experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
