Job Summary

The Office of Career Management at the Darla Moore School of Business invites applications for the Director of Graduate Career Education position. This position will work with the Director of Graduate Career Services to develop and deliver innovative and effective graduate level career education and become a collaborative partner in career management for multiple assigned student populations including the Master of International Business program. The Directors primary duties include but are not limited to: providing 1:1 coaching and support to graduate students; creating and delivering effective programming and services to assigned populations of students; strategizing with the students and colleagues to provide key guidance on all areas of career management; facilitate job placement for assigned students; maintain accurate, organized records of student job search activities and outcomes and communicate that information to supervisors. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree and 4 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in student services, business, or a related field and 4 years of related experience in student services area, corporate recruitment function, or human resources. Preferred qualifications include 3-5 years of experience working in a corporate recruiting or 3-5 years working in a college career center. Experience working with or recruiting graduate business students highly desired. Experience working with a diverse student or employee population is highly desired. Demonstrated ability to write or evaluate professional resumes along with teaching, coaching or advising experience is desired. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentations skills, and coaching skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and an appreciation of diversity of opinion and thought.
Ability to follow directions and prioritize assignments at a high level.
Ability to keep meticulous records.
A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
Professional attitude, good judgment, and discretion in working with students, faculty, and administrative units within DMSB and across the university.
Knowledge of international marketplace and the relevance of graduate business degrees in the marketplace.
Knowledge of hiring policies and practices in corporate settings.
Knowledge of US employment and immigration laws relevant to student visas.
International travel or work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Job Duties Job Duty Develop and facilitate personal, career and professional career preparation for specifically assigned MIB student populations. Includes teaching program specific professional development series workshops and coordination/facilitation of program specific (weekly) meetings. Instruction will be evaluated to determine level of student satisfaction. Includes resume and cover letter instruction review and approval, development of individually approved Handshake student profiles and provide and track MIB specific career related events. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35 Job Duty Conduct regular and required 1:1 individual student career counseling appointments for all MIB students for internship/job training and coaching as well as hosting on-call drop-in to student needs as they arise. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty Represent MIB program to visiting corporate entities, as directed when the Employer Relations Team coordinates interactions/events related to possible hiring of MIB graduate students. Interface with graduate program faculty to determine training needs and implementation schedule. Serve on MIB Admissions Committee. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Responsible for acquiring and tracking in real time internship and placement data and recording via OCM tracking system thus able to prepare, analyze and present monthly placement dashboards on all MIB students. Final report of placement information is shared with Director of Assessment and OCM Senior Director with data being utilized and submitted to various reporting AACSB, etc.) and ranking Financial Times, etc.) entities as determined by the IB Department and MIB Faculty program chairs.
