As an Android Principal Engineer on the Digital Solutions' mobile team, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of Ally native Android mobile applications. You must exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills and have experience working with product owners as well as internal and external technical teams and resources. You'll be delivering in an Agile operating model in which collaboration and a sense of team is paramount to your success.

The Work Itself

Assist in defining specifications for significant new projects and perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of Android applications according to the specifications. Additionally, provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products, services and processes including:

Provide subject matter expertise for the Android platform, while writing high-quality, versatile code (75-90+% development) Partner with external technology teams including Solution Architects and API delivery teams to design and integrate best-in-class solutions to industry standard methodologies Conduct and participate in code review sessions to ensure quality and performance Support the system integration and user acceptance testing resources by providing timely defect analysis, remediation, and resolution Deliver secure solution inclusive of remediation of items discovered in security scanning process Know the latest within mobile technology landscape by researching, experimenting and analyzing emerging technologies for use within Ally's mobile channel

The Skills You Bring

5+ years of experience in designing, developing and delivering cohesive, resilient and high-performing native Android mobile applications BS / MS / PhD in in Computer Science, Math or related engineering fields or equivalent practical experience Ability to provide expert level support and maintenance of core software functionality to solve problems and implement changes Strong sense of ownership, passion to build quality products for massive scale in collaborative, agile environment and excitement to learn. Interest in new technologies and vision to identify opportunities for improvement within the team and broader business unit
