This position is based in Plano. TX with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.

Toyota’s Connected Technologies Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Quality Engineer to support Multimedia Quality. Reporting to Connected Technologies Test Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to provide engineering and technical support in the development and evaluation of Connected Services & Multimedia/Telematics products for Lexus and Toyota vehicles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and launching the Connected Services and Multimedia/Telematics products. This person will be an enthusiastic self-starter who is able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects/deadlines. You must have a technical proficiency in developing automotive multimedia unit hardware, integrating software from several external vendors, and program management with a focus on meeting vehicle milestones.

What you’ll be doing

Evaluate and ensure quality for new next generation multimedia and telematics with a focus on multimedia hardware and platform – define the architecture and technical requirements, conduct software design reviews, and review software delivery quality.

Communicate and negotiate with internal stakeholders

Support post-launch quality assurance activities.

Visualization of issues, concerns, and gaps in the current design and evaluation process. Participate in improvement and reflection activities.

Identify issues/barriers influencing the overall project schedule and make recommendations to recover utilizing risk management.

Exceptional interpersonal skills including but not limited to: Consultative, detail-oriented, strong verbal & written communication, analytical, relationship management, and ability to influence.

What you bring

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical engineering, or equivalent.

Proven experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or related field.

Demonstrated experience in the automotive field focused on telematics services and products.

Ability to understand functional/technical specifications and architecture documents for the vehicle or electronic components.

Experience working with external vendors throughout the product development lifecycle.

Work experience in the automotive field focused on telematics services and products.

Understanding and/or experience with the following platforms including but not limited to: API, web services, Linux, UNIX, OSX, AWS, Azure.

Understanding and/or experience with programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, C++, SQL, Swift, Android, Cocoa Touch.

Certifications including but not limited to: PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, ACP, APMG, DSDM.

Experience with test management/issues tracking software such as Zephyr and Jira
