Skills and Abilities
Collect, monitor, and analyze material from a variety of resources. Access, organize, and summarize various state and federal laws and regulations. Use historical records to prepare legislative histories. Synthesize information to produce a concise and accurate work product accessible to a broad audience. Possess strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Manage numerous concurrent assignments and tasks in an often fast-paced environment. Cultivate positive working relationships with colleagues, elected officials, agency personnel, and others as well as assist members of the public.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. Advanced degree or relevant experience preferred.
Work Environment
Researchers enjoy office space shared with one or two colleagues. During session, researchers are often away from their desks attending committee meetings on other floors of the Legislative Office Building and in the State House.
