The Academy Grounds, Tennis will be tasked to landscape and maintain grounds of Tennis Academy property including 52 tennis courts and two surfaces. 

Position Responsibilities

Maintain various grand slam surfaces including: checking windscreens, clear courts of debris, replace tarps, pack clay, empty trash, etc. Prepare courts for daily use Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and sprinkler installation. Mows lawns, using power mower. Trims and picks flowers and cleans flower beds. Digs holes for plants, mixes fertilizer or lime with dirt in holes, inserts plants, and fills holes with dirt. Hauls or spreads topsoil, and spreads straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Waters lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler system, hose, or watering can. Applies herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers, and pesticides, using spreaders or spray equipment. Seeds and fertilizes lawns and fields. Maintains tools and equipment. Other essential tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience Experience using lawn mowers or other landscaping equipment Demonstrated experience with landscaping Progressive experience with employer Ability to work outdoors 365 daysa year Ability to perform routine maintenance repairs

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40-70 lbs. Ability to work on various indoor and outdoor surfaces including grass, turf, courts, etcin all weather. The department may require weekend and evening work. The employee will be working on a campus and will be required to move within the campus, both indoors and outdoors. The employee will be expected to be active throughout the majority of the day, and therefore requires high levels of energy. The employee will be bending, pushing, pulling and twisting throughout their regular work duties. The employee will be working on mechanical equipment throughout their regular work duties.
