About the role:

An Instructional Coach Assistant will aid lead teachers in instructing and supervising the activities of students to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment. The position is responsible for assisting assigned teachers in preparing instructional materials, preparing classrooms for activities, supervising, and assisting children in the classroom and in other areas of the school, reinforcing classroom lessons, and providing other assistance as requested.

Responsibilities:

Work with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.

  • Aid assigned teachers in maintaining a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom for the benefit of both teachers and students.
  • Collaborates with faculty and administrators to adapt and implement curriculum and instruction to meet the needs of identified at-risk students who demonstrate signs of not being on grade-level.
  • Assist instructional coaches with planning interventions and preparing lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students within state and school requirements based on the educational, physical, and emotional levels of student development.
  • Assist instructional coaches with developing and implementing individual intervention strategies to close learning gaps for students who are not on grade-level.
  • Motivates students and provides consistent reinforcement of learning skills and provides continuous assessment and feedback to students for all learning activities.
  • Collaborates with instructional coaches and data team using screening and progress monitoring data to determine interventions and results of interventions.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, and district and administrative regulations.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Assist with general clerical duties for teachers as assigned by administration.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during lunch periods, emergency drills, assemblies, field trips, and any other duties as assigned by administration or instructional coaches.
  • Assists in cleaning and storing of materials after completion of activities.
  • Reinforces all knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.
  • Document student progress and assists teacher by maintaining student records, recording daily attendance, grading assignments, assist in administering standardized tests, recording and/or analyzing test.
  • Substituting as needed, setting up special projects, escorting children to other areas of the school, monitoring student behavior, running errands.
  • May coordinate and/or participate in special programs or projects as assigned.
  • Performs routine clerical tasks as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and records, copying, and filing documents.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), or a passing score on the Para Pro.
  • Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.

  • Ability assists lead teacher to create an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and needs of all students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers to plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and ability to establish a standard of classroom behavior.

We believe in honesty and transparency throughout our hiring process, which is why our salary range for Instructional Coach Assistant positions is between $15.00 -$20.00 per hour. We consider a candidate's level of experience, subject matter expertise, and potential for high-need placements when determining their pay.
