Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a Project Engineer that will be based in Ashland City, TN. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will play a critical role leading the quality and operational excellence throughout the plant serving as the liaison between engineering and production. The Project Engineer will be responsible for driving continual process and product improvement ensuring integrity, leading to customer satisfaction, overall mission success while supporting quality, delivery and cost targets. This is a hands-on, highly involved contributor role where effective collaboration with engineering, contracts, operations, production and program management will play a critical part.

Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What You’ll Do:

Provide leadership to the organization to help drive a proactive approach leading to improvements in design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers Partner with Manufacturing Operations to solve problems while maintaining manufacturing efficiencies, meeting competitive business deadlines and increasing customer satisfaction levels Support engineering teams, drafting safety protocols, reporting issues to management and creating strategies that will enhance efficiency and profits Strengthen quality systems and ensure Corporate and Divisional processes are implemented and adequately followed Develop and deploy work instructions/procedures and associated process controls Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions Drive continuous improvements in all areas, focusing on key performance indicators Assist plants with the deployment of corporate quality policies, auditing practices, and ensuring adherence to company's Quality and Regulatory strategies in accordance with the established strategic plan Must be proficient at various methods of problem solving and process improvement (D, -Why, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc.) to champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances

What You’ll Need:

Degree in Engineering Experience reading blueprints, drawing standard symbols, nomenclature, reference books and catalogues typically encountered in the product development and fabrication processes Theoretical understanding of basic structural engineering fundamentals Lean and Six Sigma experience Energetic and strong work ethic Experience in leading teams and project management Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and plant level teams Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams as well as support functions worldwide Strong presentation skills - both presentation development (PowerPoint) and presentation delivery Ability to work with limited supervision. Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook Excellent observational, analytical and problem-solving Ability to stay disciplined and focused on high priority tasks
