Civil Engineer

Hess Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing company. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with plans to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial and residential design and permitting. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in designing and drafting using Carlson Civil Suite/AutoCAD, along with HydroCAD and drainage experience. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to project management are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project teams to design and permit commercial and residential projects.
• Utilize Carlson Civil Suite/AutoCAD for efficient and accurate drafting and design.
• Apply HydroCAD and drainage expertise to ensure effective stormwater management solutions.
• Engage with clients and government agencies in a professional and effective manner.
• Independently manage and oversee projects from inception to completion.
• Demonstrate field experience to enhance project understanding and execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, with plans to pursue PE licensure.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial and residential design and permitting.
• Proficiency in Carlson Civil Suite/AutoCAD for design and drafting.
• HydroCAD and drainage experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to anticipate and plan for project milestones.
• Field experience is a plus.
