Alternative Monitoring Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Under the direction of the Compliance Manager, monitors alternative incarceration and electronic monitoring of pretrial defendants and sentenced misdemeanor offenders; enforces court ordered release or sentencing stipulations and monitors offender compliance.
- Provides reports to court jurisdictions; may require regular attendance at court hearings for program admittance or to provide
- Installing electronic monitoring devices on clients for GPS, house arrest and/or alcohol monitoring at both office and off-site locations within Lea County.
- Coordinates case management of assigned defendants which includes fee collection and regular communication with clients and supervising authorities to ensure compliance with court requirements and department processes.
- Maintenance, cleaning and inventory of electronic monitoring equipment.
- Will be cross-trained in other components of the department to assist in progression of growth in other areas, will require attendance at community or agency events.
- Maintains offender monitoring program; prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports and evaluations to the Compliance
- Will attend monthly meetings as required by the Compliance Manager.
- The functions of the Alternative Monitoring Technician are not limited to those set forth above. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associates degree preferred and one (1) year experience in judiciary field, criminal justice, counseling, or human
- Relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Experience in the criminal justice field and case management strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to correspond orally and in writing in
- Valid New Mexico driver's
- Experience with the criminal justice system and case management strongly
- Proficiency using the full suite of Microsoft Office technologies, Zoom and other virtual platform conferencing technologies.
- Training or ability to obtain certification on use of various alcohol detection tools, as well as various electronic monitoring
- High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and resolve situations.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
