This position will recruit, train, and manage student employees who comprise the Pioneer staff.
This position is responsible for scheduling and maintaining weekly lab Pioneer hours amenable to chair/dean as well as student employees. This is an on-campus position, requiring 20 hours a week in the physical lab space.
This position will hold regular meetings with student employees to keep momentum moving forward with respect to story ideas, content creation, editing, deadlines, and feedback cycles.
Student work products will be routinely assessed (. stories, podcasts, photography, videos, with this position providing robust feedback, direction, and guidance.
Position will assist students in learning industry standard practices in reporting, editing, AP writing, photography, graphic design, podcast development/broadcasting, and news media production.
Position will work with student staff to offer affiliated media and web page content support.
Position will provide regular feedback to student staff on areas in which growth is necessary (and will provide positive guidance to meet necessary benchmarks mutually established with chair/dean).
This role will maintain necessary Pioneer office records, such as schedules, time sheets, inventory, and archives.This position will support the College’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities.
This role will assist in creating orders for needed budgetary items.This position will maintain necessary office records, such as schedules, time sheets, equipment inventory, and archives, and be responsible for the regular approval/submission of student employee time cards.This position will support the College’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities.
This position will also assist with proofreading copy for print/online/broadcasts and will work with student employees to ensure published media content aligns with journalistic best practices and is factually accurate.
This position will work with college marketing on Pioneer branding and social media presence.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:This role may be asked to produce page layouts.
This role may be asked to assist with operations of the new media content creation studio in Visual and Performing Arts Center.
Occasionally, this position may be called upon to Interact with Journalism or Broadcasting students in the classroom environment.
