Soliant Education is seeking a qualified School Social Worker to join our team in the Berwyn, IL area This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of elementary school students by providing comprehensive social-emotional support and fostering a positive school climate.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address social-emotional challenges faced by elementary school students, such as anxiety, depression, peer conflict, and family issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address the social-emotional needs of students.
  • Partner with families to connect them with community resources and provide support and guidance in navigating challenges that may impact student learning and well-being.
  • Conduct classroom presentations and develop school-wide programs to promote social-emotional learning (SEL) skills, including self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and self-management.
  • Intervene in crisis situations and provide support to students and families experiencing difficult circumstances.
  • Advocate for student well-being and ensure they have the resources and support they need to thrive in school and beyond.
  • Stay current on best practices in school social work for elementary school students through professional development opportunities.

As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to bridge the gap between social-emotional needs and academic success, ensuring students have the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) and School Social Work licensure in the state of Illinois.
  • Prior experience working with elementary school students in a school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning (SEL) concepts, and family dynamics relevant to the elementary age range.
  • Expertise in individual and group counseling techniques, crisis intervention, and collaboration with families and school staff.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping, documentation, and maintaining student confidentiality.
  • A passion for promoting student well-being and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
