Collins Aerospace is seeking an Producibility Engineering Manager who is ready to own and drive the Engineering Product Health & Cost organization (PH&C) for the Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC), a part of Engine Control Systems (ECS) in our Power and Controls (P&C) SBU. This is a critical role for development and execution of product cost reduction projects, development of component sourcing strategies, supporting engineering proposals, and addressing product design issues impacting operations. This role will directly manage the MPC Producibility team within MPC

This role will require domestic and international travel as the business allows.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategically, this role is accountable for: Drive design for manufacturing, product producibility, and procurement sourcing strategies that optimize product quality, product cost, customer delivery, and customer satisfaction Identify, develop, and implement engineering product cost reduction opportunities Drive design for manufacturing synergies within the product line Develop collaborative communication between manufacturing sources and Product Design Engineering during the product definition phase of a program to ensure a producible design at target cost Track and report product health and cost metrics Define core manufacturing technologies required to support the Product Line strategy Drive progression of new technology/manufacturing methodologies Tactically, this role will be accountable for: Leading and ensuring MPC product line producibility: Deploy Design for Manufacturability & Assembly processes during the proposal and product definition phase to ensure a successful transition to production Perform detail print, engineering cost reviews, and signoff for part producibility Perform and/or support Design to Cost (DTC) tracking Key voice in Make vs. Buy supply decision Conduct annual standards reviews to ensure cost standards are accurate Global OPS and Supply Chain process change review and approval Implement process control methods and strategies to proactively address issues and reduce process variation Collaborate with OPS to troubleshoot production WIP, customer returns, identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce number of customer escapes This position reports directly to the Power and Controls Product Health ECS/EACS Associate Director

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with product cost and business case modeling Experience in cost reduction leadership Experience leading a team in the completion of major projects Experience in design of complex mechanical componentry Experience in Producibility Engineering or detailed exposure to Design for Manufacturability & Assembly processes and activity Experience of procurement/planning processes Experience in a manufacturing and assembly processes
