Position Information Classification Title Business Operations Professional FLSA Exempt FTE 1. Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; however, will consider an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience in Business Management. Position Summary The Business Manager provides financial support to scientists on the Tifton Campus in varying departments. The incumbent will be responsible for proper routing and budgeting of new employees, allocation and sign-offs on PCARD transactions, and maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions. Further, the successful business manager will work closely with departmental and college staff to ensure that all personnel are properly budgeted and that monthly payroll is submitted on time. Finally, the person will be responsible for working with faculty to close out accounts in advance of project completions on restricted accounts or at the end of the fiscal year on state accounts. Upon request, this person may also provide budgeting assistance to faculty in relation to grant proposals. Duties/Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Accounting & Payroll Perform weekly accounting allocations and validations and process adjustments relating to GL journals, budget transfers, AP vouchers, EDR’s, etc. Approve travel, payment requests, journals, and purchase orders. Produce monthly status reports and distribute to faculty and notify faculty when projects are ending. Review payroll for accuracy and process on a bi-weekly/monthly basis. Percentage of time Duties/Responsibilities P-Card Serve as a departmental representative for P-Card holders. Complete p-card training in order to act as the Approver 2 for departmental p-card holders. Allocate charges to correct accounts and assign correct account codes in the Works system. Work with the department to keep p-card records and receipts for the required length of time.
