Location: Neptune, NJ, 07754
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
- No weekends required
- No holidays required
- No on-call requirement
- Float only if needed within perioperative services
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Duties include:
- Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs.
- Assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care through individualized care plans.
- Performing therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Managing care of post-operative patients.
- Documenting care following standards and clinical priorities.
- Advocating for evidence-based practices and supporting care innovations.
- Providing patient-centered care in alignment with professional nursing models.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care and PACU experience.
- Strong background in telemetry, must be telemetry certified.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of PACU experience preferred.
Education & Certifications:
Required Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
Languages:
- English (Speak, Read, Write)
