Reports To: InfraGard Program Coordinator, FBI Chicago Field Office

Scope of Work:
The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) is seeking a qualified IT consultant to join the FBI's InfraGard Program. The role involves managing and securing MPEA's IT infrastructure, which supports a diverse team of approximately 40-50 staff. This position includes comprehensive responsibilities for maintaining IT functions, ensuring cybersecurity, and enhancing the resilience of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
  • IT Management: Oversee IT operations across various workspaces including 41 workstations, 13 semi-enclosed offices, 3 C-suite offices, 1 security office, a receptionist station, 4 team rooms with A/V capabilities, alternative collaboration spaces, a café with A/V, and 2 conference rooms.
Ensure seamless integration and functionality of all IT and A/V systems.
  • Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Monitor and maintain network security systems and backup systems.
Keep all systems and devices updated with the latest malware, virus protection, and other cybersecurity measures.
  • Conduct quarterly risk assessments and report findings to MPEA Senior Management to inform decisions on hardware, software, and IT systems.
  • Incident Response and Forensics: Respond to cybersecurity incidents promptly, conducting forensic analysis to determine the cause and scope of breaches.
Work with InfraGard members and FBI agents to share information and coordinate responses to significant cyber threats.
  • Network Monitoring and Maintenance: Remotely monitor all new and existing IT, A/V equipment, software, and the network.
Provide ongoing maintenance and replacement of equipment, as necessary.
  • Help Desk Management: Provide a 24/7 help desk support service available online, by chat, and by phone to resolve IT-related issues efficiently.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs and materials on cybersecurity best practices and system usage for MPEA staff.
Promote awareness of cyber threats and the importance of robust security measures within the organization.
  • Infrastructure and Equipment Management: Maintain all IT, A/V, and other infrastructure.
Manage software licenses, updates, replacements, and procure new software as needed.
Oversee the purchase and installation of new equipment as required.
  • Strategic Planning and Recommendations: Provide cost-effective and modern recommendations for possible replacements or enhancements of current software and equipment.
Assist in developing strategic plans for future IT infrastructure and cybersecurity improvements.
  • Local Account Management: Act as the local account manager for MPEA, coordinating all IT-related activities and ensuring on-site presence at least twice per week.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in IT management, cybersecurity, and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to manage and secure IT infrastructure and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Strong knowledge of network security systems, malware protection, and forensic analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide on-site support twice per week and manage remote monitoring and maintenance effectively.
  • Experience with A/V systems, software management, and IT support services.
Term and Compensation:
Term: Full-time position with ongoing evaluation, initial contract of three (3) years with potential extensions in one-year increments up to a two (2) year term.
