Position Description

The Production Manager is responsible for driving and managing the production process and associates at the facility while maintaining efficient production in desired quality and quantity. Develops and leads the Plant Production team in exceeding key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service, and cost. Builds and develops a strong team of decision-makers and our organization's next leaders. 

Essential Functions

Leads improvement efforts to maximize plant efficiency, performance and cost without compromising quality or safetyLeads efforts and mobilizes resources to reduce unscheduled downtimeEngages and enables all employees to realize full potentialSupports and encourages a culture of employee ownershipLeads focus teams to continuously improve the operationAdheres to all applicable procedures and policiesLeads by example with impeccable Good Manufacturing Practices(GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) adherenceDevelops strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimizationEnsure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standardsDrives training and cross training to ensure production schedules are met within budgetExecutes coaching and performance management as required to ensure goals are realizedParticipates in the development of the annual department budget & strategic long term planningMaintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the plant environmentDevelop and communicate business results weekly, monthly, and quarterlyEnsures the adherence and administration of the Employee Handbook

Requirements

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate Degree in an Engineering-related field (or equivalent experience) plus five (5) years experience in production and/or operations environment required.Strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced production environment required.Previous experience in the food/beverage manufacturing industry preferred. Functional experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, etc. preferred. 

Position-Specific Skills:

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames.Must be flexible to work alternate shifts if production needs allow.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required.This position will successfully lead and develop a team of Refresco employees.An understanding of operational electrical and mechanical systems is a plus. Troubleshooting and Lean Manufacturing experience required.An understanding of SQF, responsibility for Food Safety /Food Quality and the responsibility to take action when notified or becomes aware of any Food Safety or Food Quality issue.

Working Conditions:

Physical -- Continuously standing or walking.Visual/Sensory -- This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.Work environment -- Work and environment is high pressure, results-oriented

Climate: This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work in ambient hot and/or cold seasonal environments.
