Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Industrial Engineer to support our Industrial Engineering Operations Management group (IEOM). This candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in Melbourne, FL . Due to the nature of this role, this position requires an on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.

The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely works alongside many of the other organizations here in Melbourne. This is a team that comes together to learn, collaborate, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced environment. Please note:  A start date, for candidates selected, will be determined after obtaining both a DOD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access and is contingent upon Business/Customer funding.

Responsibilities will include:

Analyzes lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand most effectively and efficiently. Builds scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, while incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints Develops optimized scheduling tools and aligns SAP/MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints. Incorporates complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools. Communicates requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams. Works with developers to design an interactive user interface that will be effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers. Guides digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies. Leads and drives positive change using iterative and agile methodologies. Creates new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.

Basic Qualifications for Industrial Engineer: 

Bachelor's degree with 1 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience; OR a Master’s degree with 0 or more years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience Manufacturing Execution System (MES), MRP/SAP/Oracle or related experience Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables. Experience with data mining, data analysis, or data visualization software applications. Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security Clearance and special program access in reasonable amount of time as required by the business prior to commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Defense Industry Experience.
