Essential Functions The Area Coordinator oversees and manages the daily operations of a residential area. This is a live-on position that serves in an on-call rotation (about one week every month). Directly supervise the Graduate Area Coordinators and indirectly supervise the Resident Assistants in their residential area. Responsible for the daily functions of the area, including administrative duties, roommate conflicts, room change requests, and reporting facilities issues. Adjudicates student conduct cases, including assigning charges, meeting with students, issuing outcomes, and following up with residents to ensure all deadlines are met. Oversees programmatic efforts in their residential area, including maintaining a budget for community development and approving program proposals. University Housing maintains a committee structure for the department and the Area Coordinator may chair or serve on departmental committees. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Residence Life. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Level I - Bachelor’s degree

Level II - Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in residential life/residential education programming

Level III - Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience in residential life/residential education programming

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
Graduate degrees accepted in lieu of experience, at a rate of one year relevant education per year of required experience. Experience in residence life as a graduate student and an advocate for students Experience with administrative resolution of student conduct cases Have an understanding of how to build a welcoming, safe and inclusive residential community, and appreciation and understanding of trends in student development and student learning
