The Technology Refresh and Estate Management program governs EOL Lifecycle across all asset classes for Northern Trust. This project manager will plan and execute large scale technology projects of EOL Lifecycle remediations. This role will complete project management responsibilities for different EOL Lifecycle programs by coordinating different remediation activities between applications, infrastructure teams, and other technology areas. This role will plan and execute programs across EOL assets ensuring the success of programs needed to meet the EOL / EOS capabilities. This role will report through the Enterprise Architecture organization and report directly in the Technology Refresh and Estate Management program.
Major Duties
1. Provides consultation to business unit and IT Project management and strategies.
2. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge.
3. Responsible for all aspects of the development and technology implementation of cloud and on premise remediation assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation.
4. Helps defines project scope and objectives. 
5. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
6. Acts as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.
7. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
8. Handles the execution of complex IT projects ensuring appropriate tracking and status reporting of in-flight projects. This includes the documentation of risks and issues for senior leadership review and approval. 
9. Creates project documentation appropriate for different audiences including executive senior leadership.

Knowledge:
- Specialized knowledge of IT projects, good consultative skills, strong analytical ability and ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff. 
- Strong analytical skills are needed to analyze and evaluate technical information and coordinate projects. 
- Requires strong communication, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with cloud and server technology – both terminology and upcoming trends.
- Significant experience managing projects through ADO.

Experience :
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or related experience as a project team member, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Has 10+ years of technology project management experience directly managing projects for on premise and cloud implementations.
