Job Description

The Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center at Old Dominion University invites applicants for a Research faculty appointment as Research Assistant/Associate or Professor of Modeling & Simulation, Instructional Technologies, Data Science, and Healthcare beginning June 10, 2024. This is a 12-month appointment that is ineligible for tenure. The selected candidate will supervise and conduct applied research and development in their selected field of expertise. They will be expected to:

Submit proposals for funded research;Create teams to support research;Generate research funding to support research initiatives;Publish research papers, peer review articles, and conference papers; andAttend conferences to further research initiatives.
Candidates with an existing research portfolio are strongly encouraged to apply. Position Type FullTime Type of Recruitment General Public Type of Recruitment General Public Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities Candidates must have at least 5 years of demonstrated research experience and a demonstrated ability to seek, propose, and be awarded funded research. Minimum Qualifications - Education or training Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Modeling & Simulation, Instructional Technologies, Data Science, or Healthcare. Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification N/A Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with:At least 5 years of demonstrated research experience in the areas of M&S, instructional technologies, data science, or healthcare;A strong publication record; and/orExperience with grant-funded and/or community-based research.
