Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking an Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering Intern in the Air National Guard Program Division – Tucson. The student’s tasks may include:

Assisting in design and CAD modeling of mechanical parts and assemblies, and drawing creation Working closely with mechanical and flight test engineers in support of projects related to aircraft modification and instrumentation as needed Support of flight test events as needed Miscellaneous engineering related tasks as needed

Required Minimum Qualifications

Intern

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, General Engineering or a related field of study. 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit

Preferred Qualifications

Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical people An affiliation with military aviation is desired (I.E. ROTC, desire to work in DoD as engineer, etc)

Hours per Week

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
