HQ Aero is currently recruiting for STRUCTURES TECHNICIANS in TUCSON, AZ.

Responsibilities:
As a Structures Technician, you will be required to:
  • Remove/install aircraft components as required.
  • Fabricate and or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
  • Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached.
  • Assist in conducting hidden damage inspection of aircraft structures and aircraft component repair.
  • Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
  • Perform mechanical/electrical removals and installations as required.
  • Inspect confined areas of the airframe and assist in providing time estimates as required.
  • Adhere to general work rules and company policies and procedures applicable to the work area and job functions.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of structural sheet metal repair/modification experience or substantiated similar experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of corporate/commercial jet experience.
  • Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent Training.
  • FAA A&P license OR “A” license is strongly preferred.
  • Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal & written) aircraft status.
  • Demonstrated ability to train other employees is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Standard Aviation Tool Kit required.
  • Criminal Background checks & Compliant with FAA Drug and Alcohol screening checks are mandatory.

Job Type:
  • Full-time, Contract.
  • Shift Hours: 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, 2nd Shift 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM - Candidate must be willing to work either shift. Overtime is available.
  • Contract Wage:$19.00/hr Tax- 40 Reg hrs | $48.00/hr OT.
  • Per Diem: $168/day (5 days max) Half Day $84.
  • Longevity Bonus: $500 @ 90 days / $500 @ 180 days / $500 @ 270 days / $1000 @ 360 days.
  • Travel Bonus: $200 (Paid after 1st week).

Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be able to work as a part of a team in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with little to no guidance.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, Position requires frequent walking, standing, and climbing. 
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in confined spaces. FAR Part 145 aircraft maintenance in a hangar and ramp environment.
