Sanitation Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the sanitation of allequipment surfaces utensils and the entire plant environmentensuring compliance with food safety regulations HACCP (HazardAnalysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good ManufacturingPractices) standards.
  • Plan organize andcoordinate sanitation activities in conjunction with qualityassurance food safety health operations and maintenance teams tominimize production downtime and ensure seamless transitionsbetween shifts.
  • Monitor and analyze sanitationperformance metrics conduct root cause analyses leadcrossfunctional weekly meetings and implement corrective actions todrive continuous improvement in hygiene and sanitationpractices.
  • Develop update and enforcesanitation standard operating procedures (SOPs) and sanitationschedules ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal auditrequirements including FDA and USDAinspections.
  • Manage personnel decisionsincluding hiring training coaching and performance management ofthe sanitation team ensuring all staff are trained in food safetyprotocols chemical handling and sanitation best practices;participate in handson sanitation tasks asnecessary.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance andproduction departments to optimize sanitary design of equipmentreducing contamination risks and improving overall planthygiene.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experiencein a food manufacturing or processing environment with a focus onsanitation and hygiene management.
  • At least oneyear of experience in sanitation within a food manufacturingprocessing or packaging facility with a solid understanding of foodsafety regulations (HACCP GMPFSMA).
  • Proficiency in using digital toolsincluding email spreadsheets word processing software andsanitation management systems to track cleanliness and regulatorycompliance.
  • Strong knowledge of sanitationprocesses including cleaning chemistry chemical handling protocolsallergen control and sanitary design principles of foodmanufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with foodindustry quality systems regulatory inspections (FDA USDA) pestcontrol programs and safety standards related tosanitation.
  • Ability to manage sanitation staffin a fastpaced food production environment ensuring adherence toindustryspecific hygiene standards and companypolicies.

WorkConditions:

  • Regularonsite presence at the food manufacturing facility working in aproduction environment that may involve exposure to chemicalshighpressure cleaning equipment and varying temperatures (coldstorage hot water cleaning etc.).
  • Up to 5%travel within the U.S. for site visits compliance audits orspecialized training programs related to sanitation and food safetypractices.
  • Flexible work hours to align withthe plants sanitation schedules including sanitation activitiespreoperative inspections and various production shifts includingnights weekends or holidays as required.
  • Highdegree of autonomy and leadership responsible for managingsanitation processes and ensuring regulatory compliance withminimal direct supervision while maintaining food safety andhygiene at the higheststandard.
