Purpose of Position

This is a temporary, non-benefitted position. Only UND year two OT students are eligible to be hired for this position. These individuals will be responsible for assisting and facilitating the Semester One Seminar (SOS) weekly sessions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Students working as peer mentors are expected to attend all of the weekly sessions.

• Students may be asked to lead activities or topics and be available to assist incoming students with navigating content and/or technology.

• Students may be asked to develop content for activities and/or group discussions related to the weekly session topics.

• Students will provide tutoring services to year one students.

• Students will work on average 10 hours per week across the semester but will not exceed 160 hours during the semester.

• Students may be asked to assist with social media if time allows in their work hours.

Required Competencies

● Excellent communication skills
● Ability to manage time effectively
● Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
● A genuine interest in student success
● Capacity to tutor

Minimum Requirements
  • Year 2 OT Student
  • Received a grade of a “B” or higher in all year-one fall semester courses (for tutoring purposes)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
