Position Summary:

Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.

Education/Experience:

Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.

One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.

Basic computer/keyboarding skills required.

Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.

Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing and skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Additional Information:

Come join an exciting, busy clinic where we help patients improve their quality of life and stay healthy The Allergy department is a great fit for someone looking for the work-life balance offered by a specialty clinic setting but who is also interested in continuing to use nursing skills. In this role you will administer allergy injections and biologic injections, conduct breathing tests, administer allergy skin prick testing and intradermal testing, and assist with oral food challenges and drug challenges. We also train all our nurses in identification and treatment of anaphylaxis, in partnership with the physician team.

We are open to filling this position with an LPN, MA or EMT. Requirements for each are outlined below:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Medical Assistant (MA): Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by “The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.

Must meet one of the following:Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License
