Position Summary:
Service excellence is to be centered on patient care and patient relationships and is the responsibility of all employees. Provide/support patient's care by performing tasks and duties consistent with professional standards, ICSI guidelines, and PNHS policies and procedures. In addition, may function in supply aid and/or sterilization capacity. Maintain a safe work area and ensure that it is adequately stocked, cleaned and organized. Implement cleaning and sterilizing procedures to support infection control and OSHA standards.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must meet one of the following:
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR
• Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License
• Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling
• Demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities and interruptions

PREFERRED:

• At least six months recent (within the last 3 years) experience in a direct patient care or pharmacy setting
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer skills preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses:

Strong clinical and human relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintains standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the AAMA. Basic computer/keyboarding/mouse skills required. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.

Must maintain skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Additional Information:

This position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), straight days position at Park Nicollet, Internal Medicine clinic located in St Louis Park. Internal Medicine is part of the primary care clinic with 19 clinicians and sees 18-year patients and older and manages chronic conditions. This role partners with 9 other clinical support staff. This role is responsible for following a standard rooming process and rooming patients to prepare them for the visit with the clinician. Clinical support staff complete procedures such as administer injections, EKGs, ear lavage, and bladder scans.

The clinic is open Monday through Thursday 7a-6p, Friday’s 7a-5p and one Saturday a month from 8a-12p. The shifts will vary between those hours, with just one shift of extended hours. This position will work a Saturday rotation of 2-3 shifts per year working a-12p. The clinic is closed for major holidays.
