Job Title: Mechanic

Department: Golf Maintenance

Reports to : Todd Youngblood

FLSA Status: Non Exempt (hourly)

SUMMARY

Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment.

Essential Functions:

Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work for golf course maintenance equipment. Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed. Repairs and adjusts engines on various golf course maintenance equipment. Performs routine maintenance and makes repairs on golf course maintenance equipment. Performs emergency repairs on golf course maintenance equipment. Keeps golf course maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected. Prepares routine, standardized reports and maintenance logs. Ensures a pleasant visit for each guest; maintains effective guest relations. Performs special projects delegated by management. Stays updated on latest developments pertinent to the department as well as the location.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1 to 2 years mechanic experience; excellent people and communication skills. Proven experience providing golf course equipment repair and maintenance and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance service programs. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. Flexibility with schedule with evenings and weekend work required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
