Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification within one year of hire or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) Physical Requirements Sitting or standing for long periods of time. May require lifting up to 50 lbs. Shift The Inpatient Neurology APP should be available to work Sunday – Saturday. This position will work every Saturday – Monday, with additional weekdays covered as needed, and all major holidays (2-4 holiday shifts per year), for a total of 7 out of 14 shifts per pay period. Each shift is 12h. Job Summary The neurology inpatient APP functions within the acute and critical care hospital setting and works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP functions primarily in the inpatient setting managing the care of acute and chronically ill patients related to neurological diagnoses.The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the day to day patient care from step down to discharge. In some instances the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population as they return for follow up in the outpatient setting. The APP has a strong foundation in evidenced based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care.
The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
The neurology inpatient APP will work 7a-730p (seven shifts per pay period) with no call or night shifts required. The role will be expected to work 1-2 weekends per month and 2-4 holidays per year.
