Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, pre-med, theology, or anthropology or any bachelor’s degree in human services; OR
Have 12 college level semester hours in humanities or social services and be enrolled for certification by; OR
Registered Nurse and be enrolled for certification by OMH, the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a mental health family-based worker.
Work Experience: Minimum of one years’ experience in a CASSP System Program.
Summary
The Mental Health Worker is a member of a multidisciplinary team. The Mental Health Worker serves as co-team leader and is responsible for providing team and individually delivered therapy and case management to children and their families in the home and/or community. This position is required to work hours that coincide with client schedules, including day, evening, and/or weekend hours.

Valid driver’s licenseResponsibilities:
Provide team (60%) and individually (40%) delivered therapy to children and their families in the home and/or the community. Works collaboratively with lead therapist to assure all client and family treatment needs are met. Utilize safe crisis prevention techniques as deemed appropriate. Document treatment data/results that are clinically relevant on progress notes and submit in a timely manner (within 24 hours of each encounter). Complete client intake paperwork per company/program guidelines and regulations Complete recurrent assessments within the regulated timeframes Assist the Mental Health Professional with development of a treatment plans and assuring they are being done timely in relation to regulated time frames. Assist/participate in client psychiatric evaluations and medication checks. Collaborate with other providers to secure appropriate aftercare/discharge services and community linkages supports during the course of treatment. Create monthly meeting invitation letters and mail accordingly. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other miscellaneous meetings, as necessary. Provide 24/7 crisis intervention support through an on-call rotation Transport clients using personal vehicle as necessary (travel/mileage reimbursement)The Location: Salisbury Behavioral Health

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, treatment team members, and other personnel involved in child’s treatment. Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with children, families, and staff from a variety of cultures and social backgrounds. Must have knowledge of various therapy techniques and counseling strategies applicable to serving complex family systems. Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
