JOB QUALIFICATIONS

:

Education: Educational Specialist degree in leadership.


Certification or Licensure: Holds Georgia leadership certification, and teacher certification in Elementary and Secondary education or related field.


Skills: Working knowledge of current federal laws related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA); must possess advanced skills in using Microsoft word, Power Point and Excel; and must hold or be eligible for Georgia professional educator certification. Working knowledge of current federal laws related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and applicable rules and regulations. Working knowledge of effective program monitoring practices. Working knowledge of effective leadership and instructional practices. Ability to make decisions based upon experience, good judgment, and established federal/state/district/department policies, procedures, and regulations. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent human relations skills. Requires skill in using word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.


Work Experience: Minimum of five years of teaching experience; working knowledge of current federal laws related to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

PRIMARY DUTY:

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring the implementation of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Director in coordinating and implementing specific components of the Title I Program and serves as a direct link in reporting the progress of the instructional programs in the schools. Assists the Director to ensure that the Title I federal program follows the guidelines of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Coordinates the development and implementation of School wide and/or Targeted Assistance projects in applicable schools. Assists Title I principals with the implementation of effective reading/math instructional programs based on research-based strategies. Assists in the development and implementation of professional learning based on Title I personnel and school needs. Assists the Director to ensure that the School Improvement Plans and budgeting recommendations are aligned to the instructional needs of the Title I schools. Assists Title I principals in the expenditures of Title I School Improvement Plans budget allocations. Works cooperatively with parents, parent resource centers, early childhood programs, college and career ready resources, organizations, community agencies and other programs to assure a seamless collaboration of efforts. Keeps abreast of research driven effective best practices in math and reading instruction. Assists district and school level leaders with data analysis and utilizing data to support instruction. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law, board policy, administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
