SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for coordinating the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the SAE representative at appropriate committee meetings; facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings; planning meeting facilities; working directly with suppliers; ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures; conducting on-site registration; and ensuring the proactive production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry and which meet the goals of SAE.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with technical committee leadership to advance the committees’ objectives, using industry knowledge, metrics and data to assess committee health and drive improvements Collaborating with committee members and colleagues, facilitating the development, balloting and publication of consensus standards that industry and government rely upon Organizing and representing SAE in virtual and in-person committee meetings in a variety of locations Acting as focal point for enquires and communications, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures Collaborating with colleagues to promote the work of SAE technical committees in key venues

EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors degree in a relevant field with 5 years experience in customer-facing, group facilitation or association arena, required.  Experience working in or with the aerospace or related industry, desired. Experience in coordinating and executing organizational process and procedure, required Excellent oral and written communications skills, required Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required  Excellent organizational, planning and negotiation skills, required  Ability to effectively utilize computer programs and web applications, required  Excellent people management and motivational skills, required Ability to work with a variety of individuals and coordinate their needs while maintaining the rules and integrity of the organization Ability to travel 35% of the time
