Responsibilities*
Specific duties may include:
Assist in the design of molecular or cellular laboratory experiments, their execution, and the interpretation of results. Coordinate molecular or cellular research activities with scientists specializing in other fields. Evaluate new technologies to enhance or complement current research. Develop guidelines for procedures such as the management of viruses. Verify that financial, physical, and human resources assigned to research or development projects are used as planned.
Required Qualifications*
Masters or PhD in biology, genetics or a related field and significant (5+ years) laboratory research experience is required. Experience with DNA/RNA protocols, cloning, immunostaining, flow cytometry/sorting is preferred.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
