As our LPN, you will provide medication administration, medication ordering and organization. You will provide assessments related to episodic and chronic health conditions to the student population as assigned.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations include the following:

Medication administration

Provide g-tube feeds

Provides basic nursing care including ADL’s, lifts/transfers, body-charts, etc

Direct care staff training and support ADLs/providing direct care, lifts/transfers, body-charts, etc

Support with triaging minor health-related considerations

Part of the student emergency response team

Health Services clinic support (vital signs, injections)

Liaison between cottages and program nurses

Participates in the nursing on-call service covering evenings, weekends and holidays

Adheres to health services policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory agencies; ensuring quality of services meets appropriate nursing standards of care.

Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations; 

Ability to write reports, correspondence and effectively present information; 

Ability to respond to questions from groups, family or advocates.

Maintain current ProCPR 

Able to Safety Care as necessary, including non violent crisis intervention.

Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma 

Certificate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program

Licensed practical nurse, two years’ experience preferred.

Current BLS CPR

Proficiency in Google suite

Proficient in electronic medical records and electronic medication administration

Experience working with children with developmental disabilities; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, a plus

Experience in a Long term care facility or a facility delivering care to many patients at once
