Candidates who can help build existing departmental strengths in gender studies, digital humanities, health humanities and disability studies, Latinx Studies, and/or environmental studies are particularly encouraged to apply.

Texas A&M’s Department of English is home to an undergraduate major and minor; minors in health humanities, professional writing, and science fiction studies; as well as M.A. and Ph.D. programs. Job responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses; conducting and publishing creative and/or scholarly work; undertaking appropriate academic service on departmental, college, and university committees; and mentoring students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The normal teaching load is 2/2.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the College of Arts and Sciences interdisciplinary programs in Africana Studies (AFST), Digital Humanities (DHUM), Latino/a and Mexican-American Studies (LMAS), and Women’s & Gender Studies (WGST). Texas A&M University is a Hispanic-Serving Institution and a First-Gen Forward institution. The English Department is especially interested in candidates who can implement and contribute curricula and programs responsive to the needs of all members of the university community.
