TITLE: Communications Specialist
ASSIGNMENT: W2 Contract
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA
DURATION: 1 year
CLIENT: Fortune 200 client within the Utility/Power Sector
 
Our client is committed to building the future of energy for the customers who depend on them, the communities they serve and the industry they lead. The ASCEND program will transform how they do business, helping us elevate the customer experience, adapt to industry changes, and implement technology that offers new capabilities with more agility. It will involve implementing multiple applications, including the replacement of their meter data management (MDM) and customer service systems (CSS) with a new, Oracle customer information system (CIS) called customer to meter (C2M). Additionally, it includes implementing an advanced analytics platform (AAP), customer experience (CX) and commercial engagement platform (CEP).
 
The new platform, to be rolled out will be implemented in phases over the next four years. Currently, they are building an ASCEND organization dedicated to helping the electric operating companies realize the vision for a modernized, efficient, digital customer experience to deeply engage with their customers and provide a more personalized experience. ASCEND will be one of the most comprehensive Customer Service and Marketing transformation initiatives in company’s history. 
 
The Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies for a digital transformation initiative and serves as point of contact for communication counsel for various departments and technology-focused teams. The position includes writing for a variety of platforms − such as content for websites, talking points and video scripts – and collaborating to organize and manage events.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
•    Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or communications preferred.
•    2-3 years of experience in public relations, writing, communications, marketing, media or related field is required with demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to analyze, interpret and effectively communicate complex information.
•    Must be an exceptional writer with ability to develop online stories, key messages and communications plans while working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. AP Style required. 
•    Familiarity with and ability to provide content for both traditional and emerging communication platforms.
•    Ability to work with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts. 
•    Strong understanding of company culture.
•    Ability to multitask with limited supervision.
•    Experience with technology implementations and change management a plus.
•    Excellent presentation and verbal skills. 
•    Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and online calendaring tools (e.g., Microsoft Outlook). Experience with Staffbase and Canva a plus.
•    Experience with SharePoint, digital video creation and scripting, polling software, or other tools to develop communications for online channels preferred.
 
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:   Specify major duties performed by the job.
•    Support in development and modification of communications plan and timeline.
•    Develop and support delivery of program communications per plan.
•    Coordinate with change management team and change agents to support consistent and timely communications.
•    Support the updating of stakeholder-facing program website. 
•    Help coordinate efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.
•    Plans and executes all specific communications activities internal and external to the program.
•    Develops content (scripts, emails, articles, etc.) for Communications.
•    Coordinates with Communications and Organizational Change Management lead to support consistent and timely communications and updates to Communications plans.
•    Responsible for working with team members to identify, onboard, and engage the Change Network. (remove)
•    Actively leads the release specific Change Network calls and stakeholder engagement activities. (remove)
•    Develop onboarding and training materials for change agents.
•    Schedule and facilitate focus groups and workshops for change agents to solicit feedback and develop action plans. (remove)

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00 to $35.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location). Benefits available to full-time employees: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401kand commuter benefits.
