Job Summary

:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer at our Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) Asheville facility to support Turbine Blade and Vane production.

Day Shift Flexible Hours

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain Material Review Engineer (MRE) certification through mentoring via OJT (On the Job Training) with a certified MRE and completion of MRB classroom training. Certification to be approved by Material Review Engineer (MRE) mentor, Engineering Director, Design Chief and Material Review Board (MRB) Discipline Chief. Develop a clear understanding of P&W Material Review Board (MRB) procedures to ensure adherence and process compliance. Review and provide technical disposition of hardware non-conformances produced internally at P&W and at supplier manufacturing locations, U.S., and Asia. Ensure product integrity and compliance through technical decision ownership. Maintain P&W quality image to all customers, through evaluation, investigation, analysis, and rework/repair process development. Provide credible balance between Manufacturing capabilities and Engineering requirements. Travel up to 10%

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) 8+ years of experience in Design, Structures, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering in Aerospace or 5+ years with an advanced degree. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated skill in leading and managing a technical team. Experience in compression systems or hot section turbine hardware Experience in using process control/ six-sigma and or lean manufacturing tools. Strong understanding of production process and ability to make appropriate risk-based decisions. Excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently without oversight.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
