Job Overview

This position is customer service oriented and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of security equipment, software, and hardware. The employee is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, making minor repairs, and instructing others in the use and operation of the security equipment and software. This position focuses on the administration and daily maintenance of security systems and training staff to utilize these systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

Diagnoses visitor management equipment problems using vendor reference materials and computer software. Diagnoses visitor and emergency management software problems using vendor reference materials and computer software. Trains employees on the use of all Safety and Security systems and databases. Communicates/coordinates with all LCPS staff, contracted personnel, and vendors. Download and store all necessary security videos. Download and store all necessary radio recordings. Edit security videos for training purposes. Maintains visitor management and all emergency management systems and platforms. Researches and stays apprised of industry best practice security systems. Benchmarks national best practices in the area of security systems and training. Provides recommendations on technology and training enhancements. Develops and conducts training in technology-based systems and databases for users.

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

Education

High School diploma or GED required

Experience

Three years of experience in the security or electronic trade

Licenses and Certifications

NA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to manage inventory and parts control Advanced computer skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Google Suite Ability to read technical manuals and demonstrate the use and operation of equipment Experience being an Administrator for large user-based systems Video editing experience Valid driver’s license
