Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of special education practices and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and contribute to their success both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff.
  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals and objectives.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student progress regularly and modify instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Washington state teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
