Mill Operator

Shift is Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 3:00 with occasional overtime on Saturday
GENERAL NATURE OF JOB:
The primary function of the Mill Operator will be to break down raw product, and overstock on the Comerio/Roller Die mills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive the proper instructions from Operator pertaining to the order to be run.
- Check the material ticket located on the skid for proper compound identification.
- Make sure that the number stamped on the compound is the same as the compound number located on the material ticket.
- The Mill Operator or Operator is responsible for pulling and setting up compound for next order.
- Make sure that the oldest mill dates are pulled and ran first.
- Make sure to give all ticket to the Operator to be scanned
- After set-up is made one Mill Operator will return to the mills to keep rubber loaded and a bank on the Comerio calenders.
- The other Mill Operator will continue to help the Comerio Operator start the product in the wind-up system, then return to the mills.
- Both Mill Operators will continue to monitor and keep a proper amount of rubber on the mills.

- Ability to operate production equipment
- Good knowledge of all safety procedures while operating machinery
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.
MATH ABILITY
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Incumbent needs a basic understanding of computers and printers
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Forklift certification required

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds.
Operating manufacturing equipment is considered a "Safety Sensitive" function. A Safety-Sensitive Function, as defined by the Company, is one that requires the operation of motor vehicles, forklifts, or motorized warehouse equipment, or one that involves inspecting, servicing, conditioning, controlling, supervising, loading or unloading such machinery. Employees performing "Safety-Sensitive Functions" are prohibited from reporting to work or being on duty while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
