Claims Administrator-Workers' Comp

Job Overview:
The workers’ comp specialist is responsible for the intake of all claims from the initial inception of the claim and report them to our Third-Party Administrator. This role entails the gathering of discovery materials for the purpose of litigation. An essential function of this position is the timely retrieval of all documentation and reports to insure that the department has all needed documentation in relation to the work-related injury.
Your Responsibilities:
Retrieve the WC packet from the property manager and ensure the injured worker is sent to an authorized clinic for medical careRetrieve the DWC-25 form from the clinic within 24 hours and review for accuracy prior to uploading into the injured workers’ fileSubmit retrieved medical forms to the TPA immediately and update the Workers’ Comp injury report with any work restrictions or days out of workCommunicate with the property managers or RD’s in regards to work status and work restrictionsUpdate OSHA 300 log chart and review for accuracyUpdate and assure the approved medical list is accurate and available in connectUpload the injury information into the TPA systemProvide training materials from our training and development team to our managers after a work related accident to assure corrective action is completed and documented Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.Skills & Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience2 - 5 years’ work experience as claims adjuster preferredAbility to articulate verbally and in writingProficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and ability to learn programs coordinated with our TPA Detail oriented and strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-drivenWhat We Offer:
