Angry Orchard Cidery in Walden, NY is looking for a Part-Time Cellar Person to add to their team
The Cellar Person will assist the team (through independently scheduled and operations requested tasks) and front of house operations (by way of requests) with lab/quality management. This position will also be responsible for mastering all Cidery operations tasks and fill in when lab/quality tasks are not prioritized. Must be available to work any shift, some weekends, early mornings, late nights, and will operate and monitor production/utility equipment as assigned.
What You'll Brew:
Assist Management to oversee operation of quality systems to ensure uninterrupted supply to Cidery needs This includes maintenance of lab/quality systems and equipment, supplies and ordering of consumable items, ensuring adequate operations of all lab/quality support systems Provide technical feedback, analysis and assist management with daily duties and reporting responsibilities in support operations and lab/quality department Must be able to work in and promote a team oriented and “Safety First” environment Safely, efficiently and effectively work to attain department and Cidery goals and objectives Responsible for consistent, accurate and timely, monitoring, troubleshooting, repair/response, maintenance of lab/production control systems in accordance with established standards and specifications Assists in daily communications and shift meetings as needed to provide the necessary information for production staff to do their jobs consistently Participate/lead in process improvements initiatives Executes Cidery production-related processes according to recipe formulation & process standards for all products to ensure adherence to specification Work to ensure all lab/quality projects are to scope and safety guidelines are met as necessary Conducts quality checks, process audits, and monitors production reports to ensure adherence to quality standards and performance Relay information regarding quality issues of processes, ingredients, and brewing materials to Cidery management Support functions of Cidery and Tour Center as requested Will be asked to contribute to market visits to work with sales personnel during tastings, staff education, and cider dinners, represent AO brand at local events as requested Is knowledgeable of and applies all policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerWhat Ingredients You'll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of experience in a lab/quality environment Understanding of the Cider making process Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to analyze information to make process improvements Good math, verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills Excellent troubleshooting ability, both electrical and mechanical Experience with participative leadership and time management Strong communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills Proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and project management skills Proficient with computer including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, including MS Word, MS ExcelLevel: 10
In accordance with pay transparency laws the pay rate for this role if hired is $15 - $31 per hour. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for tips received during the worked shift.
