Position:Behavioral Specialist (Elementary)

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students within the school setting who exhibit behavior/social/emotional (SEB) challenges. The Behavior Specialist will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement strategies to support positive behavior and improve overall student success.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
Certifications or licensure in behavior analysis (e.g., BCBA, BCaBA, RBT), or social/emotional learning (SEL) or behavior interventions preferred.
Experience working with students with diverse behavioral needs (in a school setting preferred).
Strong understanding of behavioral principles and evidence-based intervention strategies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with behavioral challenges.
B.A. with Preferred Endorsement LD
Current Michigan Certification or the ability to obtain
Completed the MTTC test as pertains to endorsement

Responsibilities:
Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
Develop, train, implement, and progress monitor behavior intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
Provide training and support to teachers and staff on behavior management strategies and techniques, social/emotional learning, and other behavior supports.
Building lead for implementation and support of effective restorative practices
Collaborate with parents/guardians to establish consistent behavioral expectations and reinforcement strategies at home and school.
Provide wrap around support for strong connections between home, outside agencies and schools with follow-up with key school personnel.
Monitor student progress and make adjustments to support plans, or steps, as needed.
Team with administration, and other building leaders, to intensity SEB supports and structures.
Work with school-based teams to support students in crisis situations and develop crisis intervention plans.
Maintain accurate records of behavior data and intervention plans.

Salary: Per the Master Contract
