Purpose Statement:

The job of Compliance Coordinator was established for the purpose/s of overseeing the maintenance and removal of asbestos and lead based paint throughout the District, being proactive with mold, air quality, and radon concerns, overseeing the safety of playgrounds, coordinate risk management concerns with State Risk Management, working with all Health, Fire and Safety issues, and dealing with A.D.A. compliance issues. This job works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations. Collects and enters data into a computer system and retrieves, corrects, or deletes previously entered data.Maintains and/or creates files, sorts and labels files and retrieves documents or other materials. Reviews research materials, determines accuracy and validity of sources and appropriateness for use. Uses computer programs to generate and analyze data, accesses data bases to obtain various kinds of information. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. Maintains contact with applicable agencies/organizations, coordinates with Engineers and Contractors for solution of compliance problems. Conduct methodical examinations, be proactive with Mold, Air Quality and Radon concerns, to determine problems before major issues arise. Inspects and coordinates with the District Safety Director all safety concerns with existing playgrounds at all District Schools. Works with State Risk Management filing claims in a timely manner as they arise. Being proactive with the facilities identifying safety concerns and working with Maintenance to remedy items before they become a hazard. Works with the Maintenance Supervisor and Foreman to improve A.D.A. conditions in all District facilities. Oversees A.D.A. door repairs, new installs and elevator inspections and repairs. ArrangesA.D.A. door and elevator contracted services. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc. Plans and manages projects and/or programs. Writes (or discusses) project/program plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or finding(s). Other tasks as assigned.

Other Requirements :

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. A valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this State. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
