Role: Accounting Clerk ( AP / AR )
Duration: This is a temporary Assignment – 3-6 months
Salary:  paying between $18 - $22 hour depending on experience
Hours: part-time, 24 hours / week 3 days per week – M-W 8 hours daily is ideal
Location: New Kingstown, Pennsylvania 100% onsite
 
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will
be responsible for accounts payable (AP), collections, and performing various clerical
tasks such as data entry, answering phones if needed, and filing paperwork accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts Payable (AP):
    • Process vendor invoices and payments. – not high volume
    • Verify and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, and statements.
    • Prepare and issue checks.
    • Maintain accurate AP records and files.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR):
    • Generate and send out invoices.
    • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
    • Follow up on overdue invoices and manage collections.
    • Make collection calls to customers with overdue accounts.
    • Negotiate payment plans and resolve payment discrepancies.
    • Document collection efforts and outcomes.
  • Data Entry:
    • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software.
    • Update and maintain office databases and spreadsheets.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Office Clerical Work:
    • Answer and direct phone calls to appropriate staff when needed.
    • File paperwork, maintain filing systems, and ensure documents are easily accessible.
  • Assist with general office duties as needed.
  • Communication with Controller:
    • Participate in regular meetings with the Controller to discuss job duties and capabilities.
    • Provide updates on AP, AR, and collections activities.
    • Seek guidance and feedback to improve efficiency and effectiveness in
    • tasks.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
  • Prior experience with accounts payable and receivable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
  • Proficient with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
