Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Elementary Principal in overseeing the K-4 instructional staff, assisting in providing leadership and motivation for superior performance that will provide excellent opportunities for our students’ educational, personal growth and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that a biblical, Christ-centered perspective is integrated into all aspects of the school (Acts 20:28)
• Assisting the Elementary Principal in supervising K-4 grade instructional faculty and instructional aides
• Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooks (Proverbs 16:3)
• Assisting the Elementary Principal in leading elementary school events and activities (Proverbs 16:9)
• Effectively communicating with students, parents, faculty, and staff (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
• Maintaining confidentiality of all personal information (Proverbs 11:13)
• Supporting the total school program in accordance with school system philosophy, CCA School Board requirements, accrediting agency standards, and state school statutes
• Participating in elementary school parent conferences, when necessary.
• Assisting the Elementary Principal in conducting division meeting
• Keeping the Elementary Principal informed of activities, situations, and developments that affect the school instructional program (Hebrews 13:7)
• Maintaining professional and effective relationships with the school’s administrative team
• Keeping abreast of new materials, teaching techniques, and developments in the field of education
• Assisting the Elementary Principal in the maintenance and completion of all records and reports as required by law and regulation or requested by the Head of School (1 Corinthians 4:2)
• Assisting the Elementary Principal in the preparation of elementary school budget line items
• Overseeing discipline in the elementary division, and when necessary, providing assistance in guidance and counseling activities and collaborating with others in the modification of student behavior, including non-school service agencies (1 Corinthians 14:40)
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or other related field
• Successful classroom teaching for a minimum of three (3) years
• Certification/License Requirement – ACSI certification (which may be obtained after hire)
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher)
• Use of excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
• Be able to engage the school staff members toward strengthening their own spiritual growth and the spiritual climate of the school
Other Qualifications:
• Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church (Calvary Chapel preferred)
• Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do, with a servant heart and optimistic attitude (Philippians 2:3)
• Conduct yourself in a manner that reinforces the core values and mission of Calvary Chapel and agree to our Statement of Faith
• Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings in coordination with direct supervisor (1 Peter 4:10)
• Demonstrate a mature, ongoing personal relationship with Jesus through spiritual and moral integrity
• Strong commitment to the vision and mission of Calvary Chapel Melbourne
• Fruit of the Spirit is consistently displayed in your life, as a reflection of God’s love to colleagues and visitors (Galatians 5:22-23)
