Responsibilities

The role of the Occupational Therapist is to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient/family occupational therapy needs for patients aged neonate/infant (birth to 1 year), pediatric (1-12 years), adolescent (12-18), adult (18-65 years), and geriatric (over 65 years). The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, assess, plan, and implement treatment according to the findings. Addresses educational needs for patients, families, and other health care providers; applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions.

Norton Healthcare is committed to establishing health equity in every neighborhood, and Norton West Louisville Hospital is an example of that commitment put into action. Opening November of 2024, this state-of-the-art facility is being built at 850 South 28th Street and will offer comprehensive services, including a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient care, operating rooms and imaging technology. It will serve both adults and children. It’s designed with the voice of the community in mind, and will change health care for generations to come.
